Music has a special magic about it. Often we use it as a background distraction but it
can also be used as a very positive therapeutic experience. Music performed, or music
experienced as a passive listener can be a source of emotional enjoyment. The music
appreciation centre is, for most people, located in the right hemisphere of the brain. By
listening to music you "switch-over" from the left hemisphere (dominant for
binary activities) to the creative, artistic right hemisphere. Try to find a few moments
each day to massage your brain with your favourite tunes and melodies.
I encourage you to select music that you enjoy. It can be jazz, rock, blues, country, swing, easy-listening
or classical. If you enjoy classical music then you're sure to be interested in the Naxos List. Naxos produce a wide range of budget CDs. Many of
the recordings in their catalogue are quite exceptional. These recordings are about
one-third of the cost of a full priced CD. At such a low price you can probably afford to
buy one a week.
Please check the selections before purchase to ensure that you like the genre. You will
notice that they are quite a number of Joseph Haydn recordings. You will find that these
are remarkable recordings.
I am not a shareholder in Naxos nor do I derive any financial benefit from publishing this
list. These details are provided to music lovers everywhere who appreciate quality
classical recordings. The catalogue numbers are valid for most countries.
You can order Naxos CD's by eMail from Abels Music Store in Canberra. To place your order
